EverWait online Beta

So it took me 5 minutes to get the Network adapter set up (significantly shorter than expected, but that’s because I still had the network settings from the beta I was on for the actual network adapter), it took another 15 to get all the EverQuest systems set up, and then, when I’m finally thinking I’m going to sit down and make a character and get elbows deep into this…

…the server is down for maintenance. I’ll let you know what happens next.

See me LIVE!

This would be the third web cam I’ve ever set up to my personal web page. You’d think I’d stop setting them up as I realize people aren’t looking at it. Oh well, if you’re intrigued, and I remebered to turn it on, you can check it out here. I’m not very animated in front of the computer (who is?) so if I seem like I’m not moving, then I may just be very very still.

The Monday After

I have to say, it was smaller than expected, but at the same time it was a really good party. I had a good time, pretty much everyone I’ve talked to has said the same. I didn’t get as drunk as I did at the New Years party we had last year (I stopped drinking at Midnight and was still too drunk to walk at 3:00), but I still had a hell of a good time. I dressed up as a big white bunny and for some reason was really animated throughout the entire party. I think it’s because the costume felt like a mascot uniform so I kept getting up and jumping around like a mascot at a football game. Really strange. I bought some Absente (refined Absinthe) for the party, I’ve been wanting to try it for a couple years now. I can say it was really good but really strong. It’s definitely a sipping alcohol, at least for me it is. Wow! I’ve still got pretty much an entire bottle, I’m sure I’ll have a little now and then when I’m feeling vaguely surreal or impressionist.

LiveJournal Archives – 10/09/2002

So a day that starts out tired and cold can end up with a fit of depression and angst. I remember these days. I don’t think its the rain, I’ve been feeling like this for a few days, and in fact if anything, the rain is only improving my mood by making me feel just in my decision to be depressed again.

I love the cold though, so there is that.

Burnt out again…

How often do you get just soooo fed up with the same daily routine day after day, week after week, and month after month? It seems like it happens to me about once every three or four months. I think I hit that point again last week sometime. I get to work and instead of being able to motivate myself to do some actual work, I’m more likely to just sti at my desk and stare of blankly. I realize this is actually the same work ethic one of my office mates has, but at the same time, I like to think I’m usually a little more dedicated. I don’t want to admit that it has anything to do with Animal Crossing, but it might. Does it matter? Maybe I just latched onto Animal Crossing because it was a much more pleasant option. I’m thinking of staying home after lunch again today because my new lab tech is so on the ball I’m actually feeling like I can leave the office for more than an hour at a time. I’m not so afraid that the lab is going to crash and burn.

Screw PocketLJ, I tried three times to get it to sync an entry and no luck… looks like I’m restricted to text journals there. Sheesh… If I feel up to it, maybe I’ll copy and paste good ones here.

Anyway, back to what I was going to say through PocketLJ…

From my Old Clié Journals

Well, Summer is chugging along, and in no time it will be fall again, and time for all the students to come flooding back to school. I don’t know if this summer is going by quickly or not, but sometimes it seems it is, and others it seems like we’ve only just begun.

Well, here I am in the lab again…

This time there’s really nothing bad about it. One of my students changed their schedule which usually annoys me but this time it’s amazing, he changed his schedule and solved about five other scheduling problems. I realized it this morning in the shower and about dropped the soap. Fortune has decided to smile down upon me.

(you know, it’s like some people don’t want your help even when they desperately need it)

AAURGGHH!!!

I never expected this day to be this horrible!

Today is the first day that faculty return to school, a week before classes start. We’re down to the wire on everything that needs doing. I thought that getting the new systems up would be a breeze but it’s getting worse and worse. A simple 5 minute problem has turned into a hour and half hell on wheels. I was supposed to be able to walk into the lab this morning, set up a multicast and poke go. That was 5 hours ago, I have one out of twenty machines that almost works.
