As the Years Churn By…

…in which I talk about Memorial Day and the havoc it wreaked on me.

I’ve never really been a “Party Person.” I’m far from what you would call a heavy drinker. I had my first real drink of alcohol well after my twenty-first birthday. I only drink to excess on rare occasion and even then, only in the company of particular people. As a result, I rarely get sick from drinking – though it has happened – and I’ve with rare occasion, I never get hungover. That being said, I do, on occasion, get silly.

Twas a good party, fun and drink abound. I can say for certain that its difficult to type write now, almost as difficult as it is to speak. Not as big a turn out as we expected, but still a fair group. I have to say it was nice to see Amy, Derek and the kids there. I am genuninely jealous of Amy with Willy, Brandon and Tommy. I know we just want one, but if they’re half as nice as any of her three, we’ll be ahead of most peope these days.

orosCraig was trying to make some cherry cheesecake shots and got really close. The first one I drank, while it didn’t win out on the first taste, definitely tasted right after a few minutes of resting. The second one, well, I was too drunk to really tell, so no real judgement there. Either way, it was tasty. The night started to wrap up when Nick had to be carried out to the car and Craig passed out on his bed… though we did all sneak into his room to play the MahNumMahNuh song in his ear from my phone and even nearly passed out, he did the little dance.

We all watched Willie play some more Gauntlet before we realized that we were watching a kid play video games and that’s a sign that we should give up for the night.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July, everybody. Be sure to have fun, but don’t blow yourselves up.

Wow, I know it’s been a while since I’ve written anything, but that’s because I’ve been pretty much away from or avoiding computing for the past 2-3 weeks. I don’t get away often so when I get the chance to not need a computer for a while, I lavish in it.

So now that I’m back at work, my friggin livejournal icon has been blinking almost non-stop. Apparently you people won’t shut up!

Christmas was good, we had a decent drive out to Virginia. I always love going out there. Had beautiful weather, even without snow. I wanted to try out the Baja in the snow, but I was okay with Texas-y weather while we were out there. It was nice to see Jeremy and Christy again, even though they’d only been out of town for a couple months. I missed them and it was good to see them again. As usual, I was really happy to see mom and dad, at least for the first few days. Then mom went back to berating me for things I’m too old to be scolded for. I stay for a long time because I don’t see them often, but it seems like by the time I get through 4 or 5 days, I’d rather just be home. I really like my dad though (I do like my mom, I just get tired of her much faster) so I make myself feel better by trying to hang out with him more during the final days. Mom did appologize to me twice about treating me like I was 8. I think she was sincere, even if she wasn’t, it was at least nice to hear her say she was sorry.

Gift wise, I did alright. Heather did a great job of getting me stuff that I wanted that wasn’t at all on my list. Almost everything she gave me was a complete surprise, and a happy surprise, too. I’m looking forwad to putting up my hammock, if it starts to get warm again, that is. I didn’t get my GPS as a gift, but I bought it afterwards with christmas money and some returns I made. I haven’t gone caching yet, but only for the same reason I haven’t put up my hammock, as of yesterday, it’s dropped to 30° and it’s just too darned cold.

We got back in time to go to the New Years party, but for a number of different and individual reasons between Heather, Nur, and myself, we decided to not go. It was very strange to be sitting home, alone and quiet on New Years. Strangely nice though.

Anyway, now we have a week before the semester to start and things haven’t started rioting just yet, but I can almost sense impending doom. I hope it’s just indegestion, I’d love to have a good semester.

Oooh… Ahhh…

Oh so achey today, and no, it’s not from the party Friday. Damn I wish there were more cameras, that was funny as shit. Some of the costumes there totally kicked ass.

  • OrosCraig’s take on the Priest with Small boy under his cloak was so much more disturbing since it was a skeleton, and then when he rested his drink on the boy’s head… Classic!
  • Paul showing up as the Jewish Nazi, oh man, with the red “jew beanie” and Jew4Life across his knuckles. Writing 001 on his arm totally finished the deal.
  • Kala’s Princess Die was pretty bad ass too. It was even better when we found out it was cynderJen’s Bridesmaid dress, it made it even funnier.
  • AramanceLaura’s Crack Whore prostitute was only complete after I suggested hanging the used condom from between her legs rather than the side of her thigh.
  • All I can say about Corwin75Steve is that I’m SOOO glad he had two black dots and not one. That means he was probably on a broadcast channel instead of a network station, because they’d show his butt.
  • I don’t know her name, but the cheeleader with the back alley abortion really did deserve two out of three prizes.
  • Even if I was rockin’ out with my cock out

Hell yeah, good party, good costumes, good drinks, good god I was sick afterwards. More on this weekend later, I have work to do!

Halloween is Friday!

So Halloween is Friday. I feel like I haven’t deditcated myself to it as much I usually do. I love Halloween, it’s my favorite holliday, but with all the crazy shit going on these days, I’ve almost completely overlooked it. We got the makin’s for my costume last night and I plan to make it tonight. Tomorrow night, after work, I intend to get a pumpkin or two and do some carving. HeatherEJCHeather says she’s not going to carve this year. She never seems to really enjoy it anyway. She likes the result plenty, but the carving just doesn’t seem to do anything for her. Maybe I’ll carve a cat just for her. 😉

I’ve been wanting to paint minis all week but I just haven’t been able to get around to it. Something keeps coming up. Last night we didn’t get home ’til late because I was at a meeting that ran really late. By the time I got home, the last thing I wanted to do was sit down and concentrate that closely on painting. It doesn’t help that the dining room table is still in the kitchen covered with stuff while Heather refinishes the dining room floor. I’m happy she’s doing it, but it’s kind of become a convenient excuse not to paint.

I hate having to enforce rules and policies in the lab that people have no idea about and goes against their very beliefs. People have these ideas of things they’re supposed to be allowed to do, but sometimes, those ideas are not in line with our policies.

Okay, that’s it, I either want to be given the website and all it’s rights and priveleges, honor and respect; or be told never to touch it again. I’m tired of this lame, half ass shit.

I appologize…

…To everyone who reads this that I personally interact with on a regular basis – for being a bit grumpy and moody lately. I don’t really know what it is, but I’ve just been a bit down lately. Unfortunately this means that I react poorly to certain situations and have a tendency to lash out at people with little provocation. I am sorry for this, I feel like there’s something missing from my life right now and I haven’t found what it is yet. As a result, I spend most every day waiting for whatever is missing to present itself, and whenever something doesn’t go the way I’d like, or I don’t get quite what I want, I get just a bit more depressed and moody (this occurs most when I’m eating dinner and it’s not something I wanted).

File Not Found

Well, I finally got the movie transfered to disk… you don’t want to know how I did it. Okay, you talked me into it. It was extremely easy once I broke down and spent $550 for a new miniDV camera (I told you you didn’t want to know).

Oooog

It’s probably that I had nachos for lunch twice this week and a Turkish Pizza for dinner last night (it was practically meatloaf on a crust), but my stomach is up in arms about something. Just thought I’d let you know.

YAAAAWWWWWWWWNN

Too tired to write anything right now, just wanted you all to know that I got the video imported last night. It’s one file that’s 2.6GB. I’m thinking of bringing it up to work and trying to burn it off as a DVD on one of our fancy G4s. Will do screen grabs soon and post them to the Photo Album.

Maybe I’ll write more, I’m just trying to stay in the habit of writing
