Bigger and Badder…

…in which I talk about board games and how much better they’re getting.

So, I’ve been buying a lot of board games lately. Part of it has to do with the somewhat increased salary coming in – though most of these were purchased before that – but also because they’re just getting so much better. Most recently, I picked up Wrath of Ashardalon and Mansion of Madness. These are massive, board games, rivaling anything I’ve ever owned before, and unlike some of the very interesting and entertaining games I’ve got on the shelf, these are seeing a distinct increase in play. Is it because I’m demanding to play them, or because they’re just more appealing than, say, Monopoly.

A Lack of Lazy Sundays…

…in which I talk about my complete lack of genuine “free” time.

I’m not going to say that I don’t have an adequate amount of time away from work. I work a 40 hour week, like most people in my tax bracket, and on top of that, I actually eat lunch on the clock so I can maximize my time and go home an hour early. I’m probably coming out ahead of a lot of people, and yet I still feel like I’m fighting for time every day, every week.

So Much Time, So Little Blogging…

…in which I talk about the past three weeks in brief.

I feel really bad I haven’t blogged in a while, I meant to just write and write and write over break, but I think I enjoyed the break a little too much. I am still not back up to speed yet. I had two full weeks off for the holiday, and so far three days back at work hasn’t changed my mindset, yet.

One Year Ago…

…in which I make a quick note about Ansel’s Birthday.

IMG_8351Yesterday was Ansel’s first birthday. There was no great hoopla, not riotous celebration, just a day out shopping and dinner at home. We went out to Frisco to go to Ikea to buy a gift for Ansel, but it turns out that the item is no longer available at Ikea. We’ll have t get a slightly more expensive one at Target, now.

Where did the Weekend go…

…in which I talk about the loss of time

So this weekend, like most, flew by almost imperceptibly. I know I did something this weekend, but nothing that would be considered a responsible thing. I had wanted to do things like change out heather’s license plates, put up a clothesline, fix the toilet. You know, grown up, homeowner, husband, father type things.

Coincidence?

 – Isn’t this pretty much identical to your MegaMan game? It feels like someone getting kudos for your idea: http://www.etc.cmu.edu/projects/igf/

Welcome to the Social…

…in which I talk about blogging etiquette and whatever else comes to mind.

So even in my failing to be a more regular blogger (I strive for one update a week and have been a bit more slack, lately), I’m trying to be a more socially active Webbite. When people comment on my Flickr photos, I try to give them a comment back. When I see a good LiveJournal post, I try to give some kudos. I’ve been trying to share stuff and just be more proactive in my internets.

Money, Its A Gas…

… in which I talk about earning and spending.

As those of you who follow my LiveJournal know, I finally bought my Xbox 360. This is something I’ve had the money for and talked myself out of buying no fewer than five times in the past. It’s probably best that I did, because it definitely ended up costing me more than the sticker price (new game systems always do; you gotta have some games, a controller, and all kinds of other excessories). Now don’t get me wrong, as I’ve stated previously, I love my video games, and since buying the 360, I haven’t regretted it once.

Xbox FYI

I finally broke down and bought an Xbox 360. My gamertag is Kacey3. I’ll probably friend you if you friend me.
