Catching Up and Moving On…

…in which I talk about how I’m just rutting along, these days.

So, I missed my update last week. I was down to the wire on my Halloween costume and had one bit left to finish, so I opted to do that, rather than write up a post. I had intended to catch up last Thursday or Saturday, but that obviously didn’t happen. I don’t really have a topic for this week, aside from the fact that lately, I’ve felt just a bit like Bilbo Baggins… “like butter scraped over too much bread.”

What Day Is It?

…in which I talk about having lost track of time and how it’s time to get back on track.

So, yeah, I kind of slipped a little bit there. Lets just say things have been crazy lately and I’m hoping that the end is near. I’ve really missed my writing sessions and have regretted not keeping it up, but the last few weeks at work have been so maddening that I’ve had no insight or energy upon getting home to even bother typing a word. Things are calming down no, so I hope that by next week I will be resuming my regular update schedule.

Writing for One, Writing for All…

…in which I talk about the individuality of topics, but the universality of content.

Even though this is really a blog about me, and the things I’m interested in, I try my best to put a more universal spin on all of my topics. So when I start thinking about a new post, I look to my recent experiences for inspiration, but I also try to find a way to apply that experience, anecdotally to a greater theme. In a way, it’s kind of like a mix tape.

Learning to be Terser…

…in which I talk about my style of writing and share with you the insights of my creative process.

Earlier this week, I posted my personal thoughts on Inglourious Basterds, an article which I greatly anticipated sharing. I was very proud of my process in preparing and writing the review, and was equally proud of the result. One thing I have learned in my writing, is that I frequently surprise myself. When I am writing, the process almost becomes more like reading as the story flows from me of its own accord. This does, however, lead to a lot of unexpected turns and discoveries that then must be focused and refined. As with most writing, it contained more than I had expected, and simultaneously still overlooked key points I intended to cover. The process of writing is a compromise with ones self to share that which needs to be shared without losing your reader, but not sacrificing your voice.

I Shall Look Down Upon You From My Treetop Perch…

…in which I talk about why I would spend a week in a treehouse, rather than a tent or an underground bunker.

There is something fantastical and magical about treehouses. While a tent still gets you out in the wilderness, and has the advantage of being portable, a treehouse is a symbol of childlike wonder. A treehouse is a iconic image of carefree childhood, of a time where you needn’t follow social rules. Your house could be anywhere and your imagination turned it into anything. Your treehouse was your bastion in the sky from everything that hunted and haunted you.

Twitter is Giving me Shit…

…in which I talk about nothing but strangling myself with my own Twitter account.

Okay. The other day I laughed at Chase for having so many WordPress/Twitter problems. Today, he can do all the laughing he wants.

…in which I talk about gut wrenching guilt.

I screwed up. If you are reading this in an RSS feeder and don’t want to see what was supposed to be a hidden, obscured, and off-linked spoiler to Tranformers 2, then do yourself a favor and go directly to my site for a screened and spoiler safer version and just mark all my other posts as read and move on.

Rutting through my Day…

…in which I talk about my daily routines and how I’ve learned to live with the mind boggling repetition

I can’t believe it’s been more than a month since I wrote an entry? I am ashamed to have let it go so long and, once again, vow to remedy this situation. Being that I had no topic in mind, I have once again gone to LiveJournal and checked out their Writer’s Block segment to see what their suggestion is. Today the topic is “What is your daily routine?”

X Random things about me, where X is ≥ 20…

…in which I talk about potentially embarrassing trivia and personal history.

I’ve been “tagged” by no less than three people on FaceBook to list random facts about me. Some people demanded 20, others demanded 25. I’m going to start a list and see how far I get before it just gets stupid. I will warn you right now, some may fall into the “TMI” category or even be “NSFW.” I’m also not tagging anyone back as pretty much everyone who I would tag has either already been tagged or are included in those who tagged me in the first place. If you’re feeling left out, however, feel free to consider yourself tagged and play along.

So Much Time, So Little Blogging…

…in which I talk about the past three weeks in brief.

I feel really bad I haven’t blogged in a while, I meant to just write and write and write over break, but I think I enjoyed the break a little too much. I am still not back up to speed yet. I had two full weeks off for the holiday, and so far three days back at work hasn’t changed my mindset, yet.
