  • Back at Work, the Vacation’s Over

    Well, we went to San Antonio this weekend (Thurs-Sun). We had a great time, but like all good times, we had to come back at the end. We spent the weekend in a fantastic Inn/B&B called the Riverwalk Vista. It was an old business building whose second and third floors had been converted into hotel rooms that look out over different areas of downtown San Antonio. The expensive rooms look right out onto the Riverwalk, while our room had a great view of the Tower of the Americas (and the Riverwalk Mall). It didn’t matter what view we got, we were still spitting distance from the most populated section of the Riverwalk (right on Commerce Street) and could walk to any number of fabulous restraunts and shops.

  • Early Morning

    I’m sitting in the quite lab, once again wondering why the hell I get up here this early. Some sort of deranged dedication to the lab. I think I’m just so tired of people complaining about the lab and computer support, I’m willing to “martyr” myself to make things better. It’s pretty much just a hollow offering, but it’s slighly more than the least I can do.

  • Look how Damn Early it is!

    Well, my job has decided that I need to be at work much earlier than I used to be. I have to actually be at work between 7:30 and 7:45 every morning. What’s more is that I have to sit in the lab for those first 15-30 minutes just in case someone (faculty) needs access before their class. Oh well, maybe I’ll actually start doing a daily thought in LiveJournal as a result.

    Well, it’s Tuesday morning, it’s almost 10:30 and I’m the only one in the office. I’m sitting here listening to P-Funk I’ll be honest, I’m totally thinking of sex. I’ve got nothing going on at work, my gaming stuff is all caught up for the next few days and I’m left with myself and the endless expanse of the internet that is relatively full of porn. What else am I expected to be thinking of. Anyway, I decided I’d write a little to take my mind off my dick.

  • Thank God it’s April 2nd

    Every year I think April Fools Day gets less and less funny. I think mostly it’s because every year I read more and more news releases and product forums on a regular basis so when April Fools Day comes around, I’m subjected to more and more so called “humor” thought up by not so intelligent web masters and PR representatives. It gets to the point that you can’t trust anything you see on the web for 24 hours (or more, since some people start early and some people are in parts of the works where April Fools starts on March 31st or ends on April 2nd).

    I’m so glad I got to go home yesterday. Of course I’m not happy that HeatherEJCHeather was so sick, but I’m glad I had a valid excuse to escape from the moronic triviality of April Fools. Who’s the Fool now!!!

  • Monday Morning – Almost Time for Lunch

    Well, I had a vaguely productive weekend. I played HERO on Friday. I think the game is going great, I’m afraid that taloncomicsDerek may be disheartened by it though. Our characters are supposed to be very mundane in the modern world and then strange, supernatural things start happening. As role players, this is often a tough concept to play, to not take these things that are typical to RPGs in stride and end up being too cool for school. I think so far the three players are playing freaked out and confused very realistically. Derek seems a bit thrown off by some of our reactions, but I think he’s enjoying it. Though there were about 10 minutes on friday that he just covered his eyes and shook his head (Mike has that effect on people though).

    Sheesh, what does it take to find some nice 2560×1024 wallpapers out there? I’ve spent the majority of the morning, off and on, searching from some nice dual monitor desktop images and so far I’ve found two that don’t actually suck. What the hell, am I going to have to pull out my lame artistic skills and make my own?

  • Through Ice and Snow and Hail

    The weather’s been FREAKY here the last couple days, in fact, today is the first day I’ve been at work since Monday (it’s Thursday for those of you reading this in the future without the benefit archival calendars ). The University closed down at 1:30 on Monday and stayed closed for Tuesday and Wednesday. The roads were pretty much an inch of solid ice for the last two days. It wasn’t until around noon or so yesterday that the roads started to convert to slush and we stopped hearing the slip sliding sounds of cars dancing on the roads outside; so we decided to go out and get some errands done since we had a free day to do whatever we wanted.
