I am a Lazy Bastard

I hate that I don’t wirte entries as often as I’d like. I kick myself every morning when I haven’t updated.

I’ve been up to a lot of the same lately. Work work work work work. Game, game, game. Let’s see what’s changed lately:

Through Ice and Snow and Hail

The weather’s been FREAKY here the last couple days, in fact, today is the first day I’ve been at work since Monday (it’s Thursday for those of you reading this in the future without the benefit archival calendars ). The University closed down at 1:30 on Monday and stayed closed for Tuesday and Wednesday. The roads were pretty much an inch of solid ice for the last two days. It wasn’t until around noon or so yesterday that the roads started to convert to slush and we stopped hearing the slip sliding sounds of cars dancing on the roads outside; so we decided to go out and get some errands done since we had a free day to do whatever we wanted.

Happy Y2K3

Well Sheeeeeeeeit… looks like I’ve been slacking on the updates… sorry about that. I know that this is such a popular blog I have people beating down my virtual door to get updates. I know, my life is just that interesting.

YAAAAAAWN

Well, I don’t know why but all of a sudden I’m extremely tired. I could totally fall asleep here in my chair. I’ve gotten the main thing I wanted done today and now it’s lazeabout time. Tomorrow I will have another priority task set up for myself. That’s all this week is, is making sure to have everything ready to go for the week after break.

Turkey Day has Come and Gone

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone and all in all I had a good one. We took the dog and headed up to My Grandparents’ house in West Memphis AR. For the first time since Heather and I have been going to Thanksgiving there, HeatherEJCHeather got a hotel room so we wouldn’t have to sleep on the living room floor. Actually, the two of us, Erezethmy brother and pcclosehis wife all shared a room (with the dog).

mmmmmmm, Coffee

Well, I picked up the d20 Modern book yesterday. I had looked at it at the store and mused about it a long time. taloncomicsDerek is supposed to be starting a game for d20 Modern that I’m very excited to play (it was originally going to be Spycraft, but he prefered d20 Modern, I tend to agree now). I don’t know exactly what the set up is going to be, I know Derek used to be planning a game based on the town where we live, but he used that for a different group, so there’s no telling what this new game is going to be based around. I know he toyed around with a Dallas game, but I don’t know what he decided on. I hope I hear from him so I can get started on a character!

From my Old Clié Journals

The reunion overall was really nice though, the best part I think, was the Close family reunion. We had pretty much all but one Close together in one house. Mom and Dad, Chris and Theresa, Jeremy and Christy, Rusty, Heather and myself were all in one cabin. Seeing Tom-Henry and Angelita is always nice too. We got to see Viki again and actually met her husband and daughter too. As I said, all nice people.

Winter Fantasy – From my Old Clié Journals

2002-1/23 Winter Fantasy

Day 1:
The week leading up to this trip was a horrible one. A fight with Heather, a depressing trip to Best Buy, a medicore Gaming session with a new character, a frustrating day at work, a very difficult time at packing and finally a late night trying to put music on the Clie, that resulted in no luck what-so-ever. I only hope that the first two days of the week do not represent the week itself. I’ve been looking forward to this trip for a couple of months now and hope that it is at least as good as it was last year.

Christmas in Virginia – From my Old Clié Journals

2001-12/18

Day 1:
We left Denton on Dec. 18 and headed out to Virginia via Atlanta to see an old highschool friend of mine.

After Heather recalculated the trip time, we realized that our 11 hour trip was really a 13 hour trip and that we would be getting into Atlanta much later that we had ever anticipated. Jen still came out to see us even though we didn’t get into the hotel until after 10:00.

Unfortunately getting in that late we were up very late talking when Jen finally got to the hotel (she got lost on the way). We didn’t get to bed until 2:00 that night, which is pretty late to be going to bed when you have a 8 hour drive ahead of you the next morning.
