All in all, I really prefer Windows XP to all the operating systems I’ve ever used, but I have run up against one very frustrating question. How do you install software in one user profile so that it is accessable and freely useable by all users? If you can answer this question, I owe you a big hug.

mmmmmmm, Coffee
Well, I picked up the d20 Modern book yesterday. I had looked at it at the store and mused about it a long time. Derek is supposed to be starting a game for d20 Modern that I’m very excited to play (it was originally going to be Spycraft, but he prefered d20 Modern, I tend to agree now). I don’t know exactly what the set up is going to be, I know Derek used to be planning a game based on the town where we live, but he used that for a different group, so there’s no telling what this new game is going to be based around. I know he toyed around with a Dallas game, but I don’t know what he decided on. I hope I hear from him so I can get started on a character!
Just a Note to myself
The track that was playing when I wrote this was a really cool remake, wanted to remember it for my own edification.
LAN!
Well, I hosted an unofficial LAN party this weekend. What’s the difference between an “official” LAN party and an unofficial one? Well, we had other plans originally for Sunday, we were going to have a Bebop game, but then at the last minute, events transpired that prompted me to cancel the Bebop game and instead have a short notice LAN party-Light. There was very little planning, very little notice, just 4 people and some UT2003. Unfortunately, one person’s computer blew up (not literally, but really the only think worse than what it did would be to catch fire and start launching shrapnel at the group of us), and one person completely forgot about it until we called him too late to actually get in on the action (though he did still come over, he just didn’t bring his computer). It was, however, a good test of the home network, not only were we able to get all the computers communicating with eachother, but also we got them all on the internet. It was pretty sweet until the Internet UT2003 game I created booted the two remaining players out for having illegal CD keys (I have no idea how that could have happened).
Well, I took the day off work yesterday to play EQOA. Unfortunately my broadband provider was down most of the day. I don’t know if I’m doing well, but I got up to level 7 with all my intermittent efforts. That sounds good to me, but it probably isn’t in the long run.
Everquest Update
I finally got to play, it’s big and empty right now, and I’m still learning the controlls and commands (still don’t know how to wave). It looks like it has potential, at least when the servers are stable.
Anyway, it’s late and I may get back oh, but I’m not sure, can’t seem to find any orcs at all…
EverWait online Beta
So it took me 5 minutes to get the Network adapter set up (significantly shorter than expected, but that’s because I still had the network settings from the beta I was on for the actual network adapter), it took another 15 to get all the EverQuest systems set up, and then, when I’m finally thinking I’m going to sit down and make a character and get elbows deep into this…
…the server is down for maintenance. I’ll let you know what happens next.
File Not Found
Well, I finally got the movie transfered to disk… you don’t want to know how I did it. Okay, you talked me into it. It was extremely easy once I broke down and spent $550 for a new miniDV camera (I told you you didn’t want to know).
See me LIVE!
This would be the third web cam I’ve ever set up to my personal web page. You’d think I’d stop setting them up as I realize people aren’t looking at it. Oh well, if you’re intrigued, and I remebered to turn it on, you can check it out here. I’m not very animated in front of the computer (who is?) so if I seem like I’m not moving, then I may just be very very still.
Oooog
It’s probably that I had nachos for lunch twice this week and a Turkish Pizza for dinner last night (it was practically meatloaf on a crust), but my stomach is up in arms about something. Just thought I’d let you know.
