For those of you who know Chelsea, she and I have worked together as a team to get her Blogger account syndicated through LiveJournal, so now you can read On The Down Low – Kharma Payment Plan, which is her online journal as a friend on your Livejournal Friends list.

and yeah, so I misspelled Karma, BFD.

Whoooo. I finally have time to sit and write something in livejournal. Lets think of something to write.

Hmmm. Okay, so I’ve been playing a lot of City of Heroes. Uh, most people don’t want to hear about it, and those that do, I’ve pretty much talked to in person.

Finally got back out to the Rec Center yesterday. I say finally, but it’s only been since Thursday, but I skipped Sunday and I could feel it. I mean, I didn’t skip as much as Steve did (well, okay, actually, we skipped the same, but he usually goes on Friday too), but it was still noticable. I didn’t go on Sunday because Heather and I were going to go for a bike ride and I figured that would make up for skipping a leg workout at the gym. Little did I know that our ride would be me putzing along waiting on, or slowly following behind Heather. I mean, I know she’s not up to the same level of biking I am, but come on, I thought I’d at least feel like I did a little work. For as much as I could feel it in my legs, and as much as my heart rate increased, I might as well have been one of those guys in the 1800’s riding those bikes with the really big wheel in the front, wearing a suit to church. I was sweaty, but that was mostly from the humidity.

Did I mention I finished painting the main walls in the office at home? I almost didn’t have enough paint and so long as I don’t stare at the walls, that’ll be my story, and I’ll be sticking to it because I don’t want to paint it anymore. I really should have painted the walls in a different order because one is going to be almost completely covered, I only painted it so that if any color did show through the fabric, it’d be the right color and so until we get the fabric and chinese doors up or if we ever take them down, the wall is consistent. But had I at least saved that wall ’til the end, if it wasn’t painted so good, it wouldn’t matter at all. As it turns out, I saved the wall that’s most visible from the hall for last and it was really noticable that I hadn’t dont a good job so heather and I spent a little while Friday evening scraping the last of the paint out of the can to finish it. Now I just need to figure out what to do for the baseboards. I still don’t have to do that until Heather finishes the floor, which it’s looking like she may not get done in time. Maybe I’ll move the computer to the living room for the time being so that when my parents come, they won’t have my computer in the room they’ll be staying in (oh, and so I can play City of Heroes and Heather can still watch TV without feeling like she can’t watch shows we record for us both).

I feel bad that I’ve been neglecting LJ lately, but really all I would do is blather on about CoH and I know none of you want to read about that.

So we’ll just say I’m on “Vacation” and leave it at that.

So now that I’ve tricked myself into getting City of Heroes, and I’ve figured out a way to pay for it month to month, all I have to do now, is figure out how to play it without destroying my sleep schedule or work effort.

Sheesh, that may be the hardest part. And I still have work to do around the house.

well hell. I’d watched people play it. I finally broke down and bought it. I had to upgrade my computer to play it. And you know what…

It’s all been worth it. I actually got invited into a team today (aside from the Super Group that is pretty much all friends of mine and their friends), and we kicked some ass in a couple of missions they had on their queue. Now if only my next mission wasn’t deep in an area where every thug wasn’t 4 levels higher than me, I’d be rockin’!

I’ve been up too late already. Guess I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to play some more.

Well, new video card installed and I have to admit, this game is pretty badass.

If you find yourself on, at lowish level, lonely, and want to hang out; I’m on Triumph and my name is…

…The Furious Badger

I realize I’m pretty much a Wolverine knockoff, but then again, there are only so many routes you can go. You’re limited to the powers presented at character creation. My schtick is I’m a lot grouchier than Wolverine and that creates these aura’s of hate or rage around me that injure other people. Whatever. I was looking at the powers and the Dark Armor sounded cool. I may make a 1930’s pilot/Blaster next, but I want to get Badger up to at least a functional and playable level first.

Still, it’s lots of fun and seems to run very smooth on my computer, even though the only thing I’ve upgraded in the last few years is the video card I bought today.

I hate it when $50 games turn into $150 though. Oh Well.

So I did it. I succumbed to the urge and peer pressure. I bought my first MMORPG. I picked up City of Heroes this evening, but I haven’t played it yet. I figure, even if I get a month’s play out of it, it’s no different than playing a normal PC game and if I play it for longer, well, it’s better than buying two. Whatever. I was going to start tonight, but I don’t remember what server I’m supposed to get on, and my friends who play are not answering ICQ (why do people leave IMs connected if they’re not there to answer). That and it’s going to take another 15 minutes to even finish downloading the updates and I don’t know if I can make it that long just waiting.

Anyway, I guess I’ll start playing tomorrow. I’m thinking of making a scrapper named Badger or something lame like that. I dunno, I’m a bit short on ideas at the moment.

So Microsoft and Ultrasoft Money are so close to working together happilly, that it’s only more frustrating when they decide to be enemies. Fuck you both for teasing me so.

So yesterday I put the second coat on the office, practically draining the paint out of the bucket, and squeezing it off the roller onto the wall. I finished though, but then hours later I went in and started finding places where the paint was still quite sparse and I had to try to scrape more paint out of the drying bucket and smoosh it onto the wall with a brush that was deteriorating from smooshing paint. Anyway, I think it look good enough. Also, last night I finished Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance on Extreme mode so I could actually play Drizzt through the game. I’m not impressed with him as he does very little damage with his swords and has very few powers to speak of. He won’t change weapons at all and his powers were mostly maxed out already. So on a whim, I stuck in Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance II because I knew I could play him in that, but just hadn’t gotten around to it. He’s a lot cooler, does a lot more damage and has a lot more undeveloped skills. He still won’t use any other weapons, but he seems to be better with them and do a LOT more damage. So now I’m playing through Dark Alliance II on extreme with Drizzt so I can get Artemis Enteri as a playable character. I haven’t read any of the books and only know who Drizzt is from the fact that 1,000’s of people have told me. No on, however, has told me who Artemis Enteri is. I’ll just have to see for myself when I beat BG:DAII.

Today I’m going to go play some more Eberron at Talon. I think we’re gonna have six players today, which is going to be different, but probably useful. I need to settle on my scrolls since I apparently can’t scribe spells with a one minute casting time in order to make them useable quickly. They still take a minute to cast off the scroll. So yeah, some of my best spells will continue to be useless. Maybe we’ll get a cleric so I’m not the only one healing someone since I can only heal the Warforged. I’m still looking forward to it though… it just won’t be the same virginal experience it was last time.

Then, after the game, I’m toying with the idea of going to Lowes or Home Depot and looking at possible baseboards for the office. I’d like to get that room done before my parents come since the computer is currently in the guest room. I’d rather not have it in here when they come to stay with us, even though it’s only for four nights, two at each end of the week. I think they would appreciate the extra space and I’d just like to have the room closer to finished. I’m probably not going to get the fabric or the rug before they get here as they are both expensive, and I’m still not sure what I’m going to do for both, but I’d at least like to have the initial painting done and the furniture back in.

So yeah, I guess I should go get some breakfast. Bacon and Eggs would be good, only I’m out of bacon, so I’m either going to have Eggs with no bacon, or just plain cereal. I don’t forsee anything more interesting in my future for food. I could pay some bills too, if I were so inclined, but I’ll probably wait until this evening or Monday.

Have a great Saturday everyone, I’m gonna go see what’s on the ReplayTV.
