why the hell not…

So I was on Friendster.com, that didn’t really do anything nor did I meet anyone as a result of it, but you know, what the hell. Now I’m trying out Orkut. bugtilaheh invited me to join, so now I’m on it. You can only join via invte, so you’ll have to comment with an email address (or at least comment that you want on, and I’ll email you via your LJ Profile), but I feel lonely with my whopping 2 friends.

Come on, you know you’re as bored as I am. I mean, Heather didn’t even sign up for Friendster, but she’s on Orkut with me.

Go Out and Promote

I started a new MoBlog, it’s called TAG and you can see it at http://tag.textamerica.com. Please stop by, if you MoBlog or just have a camera phone, or even just a way to take photos and send them via email, try to participate. I’d love to see this be a cool game, but most of my ideas really kind of flop.

So check it out, vote on the photos, comment on them, do anything you can to keep this in the public eye. I think it’s a great idea, but then again, what do I know.

I just think it’s neat to see how many people see the same things you do.

Inspired!

So I’ve been spending a lot of time on TextAmerica lately and I got an idea for a new “game” but I don’t know how to suggest it. It’d be a game of tag where you watch TextAmerica and if you see a photo of something you recognize, not just like a can of coke or something, but something, someone, or some place unique, you go out and take a photo of it. Here’s an example:

I was surfing around on TextAmerica yesterday and I saw this:

so I immediately went downstairs and took this photo:

I think it would be fun and you’d get an idea of who’s in the area with you that’s MoBlogging. Maybe I’m just bored and lonely. If you have any idea how to promote this, feel free to comment, I’ll think on it in the mean time as well.

I just got this cool idea for a party food spread…

A D&D Miniature edible combat scene where everything but the minis themselves are edible, including jello-atinous cubes.

Maybe I need to start planning for a party… besides the Jello-atinous cubes, anyone have any suggestions?

well, it’s getting darker out and I swear I can smell the rain on the air through the ventilation system of the building. The leaves on the trees haven’t really perked up though, so maybe I’m just imagining it.

I had a couple hot dogs and some Cheese-Its for lunch today. Got back to find out that Flash was “glitchy” in the lab. Gee, thanks for the detailed report. Afterwards I’m asked if I ever figured out how to fix that problem I was just told about 5 minutes ago.

“Uh, no?”
“We had this same problem six months ago, didn’t you fix it then?” the student tech says.
“Yeah, I told you to make the program crash and report back.”
“I did, and I told you all I had to do was launch the app.” he replies.
“Uh, you never got back to me on that.”

This is getting to be a theme here. This is the third time this week someone’s asked me how I’m doing on something when I was waiting for them to give me more information. Sheesh.

blah, this week will NOT end. It’s Wednesday and I now remember the soreness I get in my elbows from resting them on my deks in boredem for days on end. Don’t get me wrong, for the most part I actually enjoy my job, its just that some weeks are really slow and there’s alomost nothing that is urgent enough to be up and about for. So I end up sitting at my desk staring at LiveJournal, TextAmerica, or eBay and as a result feel much less productive for society than I realy am.

It’s nice and cloudy out today and I like that kind of weather. I had heard it was supposed to be hot today too, which would mean muggy and humid. Fortunately it seems to be holding in the mid 60’s so that’s nice. I wish I was outside, or at least free to go outside at my whim and will. I mean, yeah, I’m not chained in here, I could go and just sit out side, but there’s no real point. I’d be doing less than I am now for work, and would actually look less productive at the same time. So really, not that big of a deal. I’ve got the curtains open so I guess, really, I’m better off than some.

Last night I had intended to play with some computer stuff, make some animated .gifs, things like that. Instead I watched crap on TV, made myself some Chicken Fried Rice and mostly did abso-fucking-litely nothing. I dealt with some past aggression issues and feel much better about that whole incident (okay, mostly back to not letting any of it bother me). I thought about painting minis, especially after looking at the new Confrontation sketches at Talon yesterday. Maybe I’ll consider it tonight. I think I’m going to paint a ghoul or two next, just so I can paint something that isn’t flesh colored. Of course Dawn of the Dead might have something to do with it as well. But then again, I’ve been thinking of painting one for a couple weeks, before I actually saw Dawn of the Dead.

Oh well, it’s almost lunch time. Expect more babbling after lunch, unless I finally decide to take this “cleaning my office space” a step further.

bored bored bored

Well, we’re back at work after a nice, week long break and I have to say, I liked being on break better. I was actually more productive at home than I am at work and it’s not for a lack of trying, a lot of it comes down to waiting for something to break. I mean we do a fair ammount of preventative maintenance here, but really, most of our work is all about emergency response (I can’t print, I can’t log in, my computer’s on fire). Yesterday was spent mostly, well hell, I can’t even remember what I was doing yesterday. I know I did a lot of the same thing for a bunch of different people… oh yeah, I was dealing with Mac Laptops and the on-campus hardware support guys off and on all day. It wasn’t too bad, kept me busy. Today’s been a lot slower even though the lab’s been a zoo, every time I go in there I expect a Gorrilla to break out and start throwing small children (too soon? maybe, oh well, call me a heartless bastard if you want).

Anyway, so most of the day I’ve spent putting together my auction for my old CliĆ© so that we can start making up for the too much money I spent since we got our tax return. I overspent my share of the return on the new CliĆ© and was supposed to put up the auction for the old one a couple weeks ago, but I was lazy and didn’t do it until today. I’m really hoping I get over $100 for it because we need the money. I also need to sell my Belkin Router since I bought a new Wireless router. That should hopefully bring in a few dollars as well as process all my rebates for the wireless stuff. I’m gonna try to do that tonight.

Oh well, Steve’s wanting to go to 7/11 and since I didn’t get lunch, I’m ready to go too… I think I’ll camp at Derek’s until it’s actually time to go home too. Fuck this lame ass shit.
