Money’s been tough, and it’s not necesarilly getting any easier. I’m trying very hard not to spend any of my allowance this month. I think I’ve only ever once had any rollover so I’m wanting to see what it’s like to have more than $100 in my account. We’ll see what happens. I don’t recall any new games or books on the horrizon, and if there are, well, Christmas is right around the corner.

I canceled my Citibank Visa today. It was really wierd to do so. It’s not really my oldest credit card, but it’s my most used card. It’s a Sony card so I get points to use toward Sony products when I use it for stuff. I didn’t have enough points in the end to get anything else, so the remaining points just went to waste. It’s probably best to have cancelled it though. I know this is kind of sick, but I had the number memorized. And just to add insult to injury, my only subscribed porn web site was tied to that account, too. Looks like I’ll be losing that as well. Too bad too, it was an awesome site. I also paid off my Best Buy card today too. As soon as I get the refund check in the mail, I’ll probably cancel it as well. I won’t be as concerned about it though, I can’t remember what I specifically got the card for, but I’ve pretty much abused it along the way (I think it was my old Toshiba computer, which is pretty scary). It’s so hard to give this stuff up, but I know full well that it’s for the best and it really is the best thing to do. We need to get ourselves out of debt and having credit cards around isn’t going to help at all. I really wish we had more money, I wish the school realized my importance and paid me more, I wish Heather was compenensated as well as she’s praised. She is more kick ass at her job than I am at mine and I know we’re both underpaid for the stress we suffer (but then again, I’m sure a lot of people feel that way).

She’s looking at car insurance options to see if she can lower that any, looks like we might be able to go a bit lower if we swtich to Progressive from Geico. I wonder what Geico would say if we told them we were switching. Could we get them to meet or beat Progressive’s rate (Heather, are you reading this?).

For now, I just have to learn to appreciate the things I have, sell the things I don’t need, and not long for the things I don’t have (Digital SLR camera, Wide Screen LCD TV). I really need to get back to selling on eBay. Anyone looking for a pile of 2nd Edition AD&D books? They’re all well loved, but the content is mint and none have dropped a page yet.

This web thing is starting to get really piss annoying. I’m not the web manager, no one is. I want to, but they can’t pay me to do so. As a result, they come to me to update stuff, but if it’s major work that won’t fit in my schedule, then they pass it on to someone else and then the design consistency is blown. The style is trashed. The website loses uniformity. Yeah, whatever. I wish they’d either own up, reclassify me and make me lab manager/web manager, or stop asking me to do stuff with the web page completely.

Anyway, I took photos of my pumpkins last night.

The “Beware” pumpkin was a lot easier to read before it started to shrivel. Also, I couldn’t seem to hold the camera still enough to take a good photo of it in complete darkness, sorry about that.

Oooh… Ahhh…

Oh so achey today, and no, it’s not from the party Friday. Damn I wish there were more cameras, that was funny as shit. Some of the costumes there totally kicked ass.

  • OrosCraig’s take on the Priest with Small boy under his cloak was so much more disturbing since it was a skeleton, and then when he rested his drink on the boy’s head… Classic!
  • Paul showing up as the Jewish Nazi, oh man, with the red “jew beanie” and Jew4Life across his knuckles. Writing 001 on his arm totally finished the deal.
  • Kala’s Princess Die was pretty bad ass too. It was even better when we found out it was cynderJen’s Bridesmaid dress, it made it even funnier.
  • AramanceLaura’s Crack Whore prostitute was only complete after I suggested hanging the used condom from between her legs rather than the side of her thigh.
  • All I can say about Corwin75Steve is that I’m SOOO glad he had two black dots and not one. That means he was probably on a broadcast channel instead of a network station, because they’d show his butt.
  • I don’t know her name, but the cheeleader with the back alley abortion really did deserve two out of three prizes.
  • Even if I was rockin’ out with my cock out

Hell yeah, good party, good costumes, good drinks, good god I was sick afterwards. More on this weekend later, I have work to do!

Well, against all odds I got my the last part of my costume (okay the second part, but still) in the mail yesterday. I was checking up on the order info and found that it had shipping listed as 10-14 days. That wouldn’t have been so bad, had I not ordered it last friday. So I needed in 7 or less. Maybe I paid for faster shipping and I don’t remember, but I have it now and that’s all that matters.

We played the conclusion to the Homeguard storyline. I have no idea when we’re going to pick these characters up again, but we all seemed excited to see where they go next. We’re prepping for the next series though, starting out as humans fighting thugs again. I’m starting out as a street magician/martial atist. Kind of a David Blaine meet Kane from Kung Fu. Don’t know when we’re gonna start up again, or where the game is going to take place, but I’m looking forward to it. I think I need a break from Shadow Knight, especially after everything he’s been through recently. Some serious mind fuckage gone on, thanks Danny, excellent game!

Halloween is Friday!

So Halloween is Friday. I feel like I haven’t deditcated myself to it as much I usually do. I love Halloween, it’s my favorite holliday, but with all the crazy shit going on these days, I’ve almost completely overlooked it. We got the makin’s for my costume last night and I plan to make it tonight. Tomorrow night, after work, I intend to get a pumpkin or two and do some carving. HeatherEJCHeather says she’s not going to carve this year. She never seems to really enjoy it anyway. She likes the result plenty, but the carving just doesn’t seem to do anything for her. Maybe I’ll carve a cat just for her. 😉

I’ve been wanting to paint minis all week but I just haven’t been able to get around to it. Something keeps coming up. Last night we didn’t get home ’til late because I was at a meeting that ran really late. By the time I got home, the last thing I wanted to do was sit down and concentrate that closely on painting. It doesn’t help that the dining room table is still in the kitchen covered with stuff while Heather refinishes the dining room floor. I’m happy she’s doing it, but it’s kind of become a convenient excuse not to paint.

I hate having to enforce rules and policies in the lab that people have no idea about and goes against their very beliefs. People have these ideas of things they’re supposed to be allowed to do, but sometimes, those ideas are not in line with our policies.

Okay, that’s it, I either want to be given the website and all it’s rights and priveleges, honor and respect; or be told never to touch it again. I’m tired of this lame, half ass shit.

The lab attendant this morning couldn’t remember if work started at 8:00 or 9. WTF? I can’t wait to ge the timeclock software in place. I know they’ll hate it at first, but they’ll learn to loathe it in time.

I played some more Green Regent this weekend. I haven’t decided which was better of the two I’ve played. The judge for the second wasn’t nearly as good as the first Orosjudge. It was only slightly less video-game-y than the first one we played, but still very much a combat romp. We almost got TPKed by a dire Badger (seems a little tough for 5 level one characters). Anyway, it was a good trip and worth the drive I think.

Oh well, time to go back to the office.

Does anyone Remember this guy?

He used to hang out with us a lot, but I sure don’t have any friends with hair even nearly this long, anyone seen him around?
