People are already starting to buy things off of our registry!

    So exciting.

Now we just need a name.

    Maybe The Dude.

I’m so sick of hearing about how Denton is being destroyed because one city block is being torn down and replaced with some corporate businesses. Hell, only a couple of the spots even have rumors as to what will be in them, there will be plenty of open spaces for local businesses.

Oh woe is us who won’t have the run down, nearly condemned eateries and thrift shoppes nearby. It is such a shame that they will be replaced by new buildings, giving new businesses and restaurants a place to find a home. All cities change, all things evolve. You are no longer a child, you need not have your home city remain stagnant simply that your memories are sealed in crumbling concrete.

Those buildings were slums, the tenants paid nearly nothing and got nearly nothing in return. If the old residents are truly serious about seeing their businesses develop and succeed, they will live past this. This is not the Denton of 20 years ago, this is not the Denton of 50 years ago, this is not the Denton of 100 years, ago, and this will not be the same Denton in 10 years. Things change, and you either change with them, or live in a clouded melodramatic memory of the “golden years.”

And remember, “back in the day” is always a Tuesday.
