i cant remember if i asked this, but ar eyou taking summer classes? and if so, what are you taking?
I was going to take a minimester course on fabricating with plexiglass, but then I remembered I’ll be out of town the first week of minimester, so I’m going to rest all summer, probably shoot some photos, and just save up for the fall…
since I’ve already decided I’m going to take 5 years to finish the program, I really only need to take 2 classes ever long semester to finish.
i didnt see any crazy sounding courses like the plexiglass one listed online. hmm… guess i’ll have to look again.
i found out that the grad school at unt is giving me a $1000 scholarship but it ONLY applies to the summer and i have to take at least 2 courses to use it. they need an answer in like a week and a half so im scrambling to figure out if i should take stuff and what to take. i emailed dornith but she hasnt gotten back to me. maybe i’ll call her. i was just curious if you had anything in mind 🙂

If that’s the same scholarship I’ve been hearing about, there may be more details than they let on… I’d check with Angela about all the details required to recieve the bonus. The way it was explained to me (which isn’t necesarily right either) was that they have a allotment of money to convince graduate students to take summer courses. The first elligible are Doctoral Students who are teaching during the summer, then Doctoral Students who are not teaching, then MFA Students who are teaching during the summber, then MFA Students who are not teaching. The problem (again, as it was explained to me and may be completely wrong) is that there is only enough money for a few scholarships (I think they said there was $15,000, so that would be 15 scholarships).
But please, don’t be discouraged, I only want to make you aware that it may be a complex issue and to guarantee that you will get the scholarship of you enroll. If you’re elligible, I say go get it! Its a fantastic deal!
Oh, and I have all the parts of that scanner if you want to get it some time. It’s all at my house.
