So there’s a setting in Windows XP that’s driving me nuts! I fixed it about 4 months ago to not happen, but now its back and the fix I used before doesn’t seem to be fixing it this time. I have no idea what to do to make it work.
When you shut a laptop it either goes into standby or Hibernation. However you have to enter a password to open the laptop back up afterwards. You can disable this as an administrator, but it doesn’t acutally stick if you’re the user.
I’ve already configured these laptops to log in automatically so that the generic user doesn’t need to enter a password to start them up at all, but apparently if they shut the system, they can’t start them back up again. This summer I had found a Registry Edit that stripped out the Password Prompt, but that edit no longer seems to be working. I’ve been struggling with this all day and I’m about to rip my hair out. Blargh.
Edit: I think I finally nailed it – for now.

What is it with computer geeks and ween?
Just kidding. Hi!
Its in our contracts upon hiring that we must listen to and appreciate at least one Ween album.
Oh, I see.
I personally chose 12 Golden Country Hits.
A decent one at least.
