Oog, 5 hours of sleep is not enough for this job. I will not offer to run any more games on Wednesday nights. From now on, gaming doesn’t start until at least thursday.
So my bank account, the one I use for my “allowance” got screwed again last night. The preorder that I placed in August for Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II went through last night while I only had $6 in my account. So now I’ve gone from $6 to -$75 (as a result of penalty charges from going negative). I think, due to unscheduled charges this month (things I didn’t actively purchase but were pre-ordered or part of a subscription) I’ve been charged almost $100 in overdraft fees. From now on, no more subscriptions, no more pre-orders on my allowance account. They’re too chaotic to plan for.
I was informed yesterday at work that we would be redoing the S.O.V.A. web page. I’ve been wanting to do that for some time now and I’m finally getting the chance. Unlike last time, I’m not in full control. One of the faculty is doing the bulk of the design work and I’ll just do the coding and data entry, but it’s still going to be a lot of work. Not only that, but the deadline is ruthless, they want to have something online by Feb 15. What sucks is I already scheduled a weekend out of town on the 7th and 8th, so there’s a whole weekend I can’t work on it. I paid to go out of town already, so I can’t really back out of it. I’d be out $20. I’m just going to be pushing hard all that week. We have our first official design meeting tomorrow. I hope I get the initial design comps soon so I can start the layout.
But I get to go to the office now, so no more looking at cute girls in the lab for me.

I dunno. I don’t really plan that far in advance. I’m sure if I do, though, I’ll mention it in my journal somewhere.
Hey now. it’s my design and I take offense to that. You should have seen it before. I’ve always been proud of that design though I’ll admit it’s not completely realized.
Sheesh. It’s oudated, but it’s not ugly.
I feel for you about the hefty price of subscriptions, auto-w/d, etc…
I went and got Smeagol two cans of RX cat food for $1.62 the other day.
Forgot to time it with my domain charge…
ended up paying $77 total for 2 cans of prescription cat food and a fucking dot com.
The angst mightily flows here, my friend. Unfortunately…I can only blame myself *this* time!
Yeah. I need to put forth a mighty effort to not have things auto-charge to my allowance account. I have a Discover Card for that.

They are right there in Denton… so even if you don’t make it to the Con itself (there’s only about 100 tickets and I think half are sold) maybe we can get some games going somewhere else. Like I said, it’s in May… so plenty of time to plan later.

I thought they were still in Lewisville. Either way, no biggie. We’ll have to see what we can do. I’m sure we can put together a couple regional mods for you even if I don’t make it to the con.

well, I won’t have as much control over the design, so it won’t be as stylized as this one, but I’ve been reviewing others for inspiration. So far the designer and I seem to agree on a lot of points.
I’ll see Friday what I may be working with.
and I figured you were kidding, but a lot of people say the same thing and they’re not. I take a bit of offence at it. Sorry I flew off the handle.
It’s all right – I would’ve been offended too ^_^ I tend to be blunt sometimes without realizing how people might misinterpret my meaning.
I spose what I meant to say initially was that the old SoVA black-and-white scheme just wasn’t my particular cup of tea 🙂
