Okay, I’m just kidding… mostly. The arrival of students back on campus marks the beginning of the realy work year. Sure, unlike faculty, us staff are here all year long, but the summer is a distinct lull for us. When the faculty comes back, its a warning that the lull is almost over. Then there’s the fateful Monday when all the students come back and we really do get back to work. Its less dramatic for me this year since I’m no longer in charge of the lab (and from what I hear, Steve got the lab mostly set up this weekend).
So now I’m kind of hiding in the office, trying to figure out what is next on my list of priorities that involves going out into student traffic the least. I really want to take a couple macs over to Oak Street, but I kind of need my car to bring their predecesors back. I’ll have to wait until after the first to go get them.
Other than work and WoW, I’ve started my gears grinding on NaNoWriMo. I need a plot. I have a couple I could use, but I don’t feel completely comfortable with them. I put a note on our dry erease board for Heather that says “NaNoWriMo Blurb.” I told her to write some plot blurbs (like you would see on the back of a dvd or book) and if one seems to sprout into an idea, I’ll write about it. She hasn’t done any yet, but then again she never told me “What Food Am I?” either.
Oh, and keevs, you deserved the compliment, but I didn’t mean anything creepy by it. You just looked good and I felt like telling you. My wife thought it was wierd, so I just wanted to clarify.

so, supposedly I’m playing WoW, but you sure can’t tell it to look. I’ve been trying to enter this instance for about 10 minutes and I can’t seem to get through the shroud. Not only that, I can’t log out to relog either. Apparently everyone else in my raid group is the same way though.

Well shit… Steve’s image for the lab didn’t take. I feel bad for him because I know how that feels.
Oh, and a special thanks to him for putting himself out to finish my iPodShuffle offer. Now I just have to wait for him to go green. At least I know where he lives, unlike jdogg0140!

Ah, I feel things winding down. I still have a huge pile of comptuers to work on and I can’t see my desk , I can feel that it is Friday and tomorrow is going to be all better. Still need to get some Ronsonal and make sure my torches are up to snuff.
Either way, I want to get one more computer up and in service before I go home. Unfortunately, it has about 1000 applications on it. Ah well, back to the task.

Thank God Its Friday…
Well, I finally finished that machine at 8:45 last night. It was so late that
Heather and I decided that we would go to Applebees for dinner rather than go home and make dinner or eat leftovoers. Finally got home, gave my dogs a quick pat, and crawled into bed.I almost made it through a whole episode of M*A*S*H, but not really. I remember Heather’s laugh from time to time and wondering what joke I missed. I was just awake enough to turn off the TV, DVD Player, and light and go to sleep.
Slept really well, had a dream about an interesting prestige class for D&D (boy is that dorky). Now I’m all ready for another day.
Oh, and it doesn’t even look like that faculty member came up last night to use his computer at all.
