Sorry for the Late Invite – Movie Night

Okay, so I’ve been crazy busy for the last, what, three weeks? So I haven’t
even given the movie for this week a second thought. This morning, though, I
buckled down and finally picked one out. I had it narrowed down to a choice
of two, and when I presented that selection to Heather, she requested that
we watch the one that she hadn’t already seen. So without any further babble
out of me, the movie of the week will be The Man With One Red Shoe (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089543/). This is a fairly classic 80’s movie
with a story not entirely dissimilar to Enemy of the State and other hapless
spy movies, only it’s from a time when Tom Hanks was still playing comedic
roles.

With a running time of 92 minutes, we will attempt to start the show at
7:58pm.

Movie Night – You’re Invited!

Before my life gets even crazier and I forget to send this out, the movie
this week will be the soul rocking Irish film about a band that just won’t
give up. We’re watching The Commitments. My parents and my brother and his
family will all be here as well, so floor seating will be the premium. We
look forward to seeing you all here! We will start the movie as close to
7:32 as possible, but you know how that works out.

And for all of you who’s kids might think speaking “Irish” is cool. here’s

Movie Night: Let’s Get Ready to RUMBLE!

so I says to Heather, “what do you want to watch this week?” and she says,
“I dunno, a raucous comedy?” so I says, “have we watched Ready to Rumble, as
a movie night yet?” and she says, “I dunno, maybe?”

Anyway, I’m pretty sure we haven’t. So this week, we’ll be watching Ready to
Rumble for movie night. We’ll start the movie at exactly 7:43pm, give or
take. So get your foam fingers and John 3:16 placards, and we’ll see you
there.

Oh, and for all you parent types with impressionable kids, here’s the

Friday’s Movie Night

Last week, a few of us had the opportunity to watch Everything is
Illuminated and I became vaguely obsessed with Gogol Bordello and lead
singer Eugene Hutz. After looking up Eugene on Wikipedia, I learned that
another movie on my Netflix queue not only featured the music of Gogol
Bordello, but one of the characters is loosely based on Eugene. On top of
all this, the movie is about an afterlife way station that has been reserved
for people who have committed suicide, and the people who inhabit it.

So this week, we will be watching *Wristcutters: A Love Story*, starting at
8:32pm.

Friday, June 6

Yes, we’re having a movie night. What are we watching? We don’t know!!! We
haven’t really had a lot of time to think about it and simply forgot to
pick. I’ve got a Simon Pegg movie shipping from Netflix that might make it
here on time, or I’ve got an nearly infinite number of movies on Netflix
Streaming, plus we have a decently large library. I’m sure, come 8:30 on
Friday, we can figure something out. So if you’re in the mood to hang out
and maybe watch a movie of random chance selection, come on by!

Friday, May 22

This week we’ll be watching Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid. If there’s enough
interest, we’ll do it outside with the projector and screen, but if only a
couple people are showing up, we’re not going to bother. Start time will be
8:31 pm.

Sorry for the terse invite, I’m kind of short on creativity at the moment.
