X Random things about me, where X is ≥ 20…

…in which I talk about potentially embarrassing trivia and personal history.

I’ve been “tagged” by no less than three people on FaceBook to list random facts about me. Some people demanded 20, others demanded 25. I’m going to start a list and see how far I get before it just gets stupid. I will warn you right now, some may fall into the “TMI” category or even be “NSFW.” I’m also not tagging anyone back as pretty much everyone who I would tag has either already been tagged or are included in those who tagged me in the first place. If you’re feeling left out, however, feel free to consider yourself tagged and play along.

And away we go:

1. I habitually talk to myself, even to the extent of asking myself aloud why I am talking to myself.
2. I objectify women more than I’d like to, but in a way, it makes me feel more virile and desirable.
3. I have one of the largest collections of music of all my friends and acquaintances, and I often feel guilty about shorting the artists for their talents.
4. I have had five piercings in my life, but never more than four at a time.
5. I used to have this spot on both cheeks where the skin got really dry and flaky. My mother thought it was rosacea, but it was just where AVGAS fumes were drying out my skin.
6. I have the desire and the vision of being an artist, but not the drive. To be honest, I’ve never been driven to do much of anything.
7. I never had a “life-long” friend. Most of my friends were about a year and then we would be in different classes.
8. I’m wondering if I can get to 40.
9. The first girl I ever kissed was a girl at a Christian summer camp. I actually chatted up her friend to get to her.
10. I’m a big fan of chaos, so long as it’s carefully planned.
11. I’m a remarkably apathetic person and only really focus on things that directly affect me. However, with RSS feeds, I’ve become more conscious and aware of national and global events. I even watched the inauguration this year.
12. I remember very clearly that it took me two tries to lose my virginity. It took me a lot of debating with myself to write that line.
13. I was that guy that said “I love you” too soon.
14. The character fault that haunts me the most since adolescence is the fear that my friends don’t like me as much as I like them.
15. I’ve recently been accepted into the second stage of sperm donation screening, but I’m stymied by the fact that I don’t know what my blood type is.
16. I try to use the push panels or crash bars on doors. I know too many people with glass doors covered in fingerprints.
17. I have the sweetest, cutest, and most brilliant little boy on the planet. You’re welcome do disagree, but you won’t convince me otherwise.
18. When I turned thirty, I realized that a lot of things that worried me were petty and pointless. I then began to collect an entirely new set of worries.
19. It was months after my dog was put to sleep that I finally truly cried about it. It was, however, prompted by my first viewing of I Am Legend.
20. I have had remarkably few jobs in my life. Jobs I have had are as follows:
    -Blockbuster CSR
    -Community Airport “Lineboy” (fuel attendant and all around general labor)
    -Worst Pizza Delivery Driver Ever
    -Summer worker at a paper mill
    -Computer Lab Attendant/Manager/Computer Support Specialist.
21. I hate the fact that I’m so lazy, easilly distracted, and driven to procrastinate.
22. I now have a dry spot on the side of my nose that flakes off, but I no longer pump AVGAS.
23. If I’m not careful, I’ll stop up toilets.
24. I have a wicked temper if I let it get away from me, but I have the peace of mind to try to keep all damage to a personal or expendable degree
25. A long time ago, I attended Drum Major camp (because I was a Drum Major, duh). They taught me one thing that I still think about today. “Always leave a place better than you found it.” To that effect, I often throw away litter or peel off stickers in public places.
26. I masturbate far more than I should, and some people might even think I have a problem. Along those same lines, I have a huge porn collection.
27. The only thing I regret about moving to Texas shortly after I graduated high school is losing touch with all of my high school friends. FaceBook has gone a long way to remedying that, though.
28. I had a roommate in college who went to the emergency room for alcohol poisoning. He then drew a “cartoon” on the wall about his experience and withdrew from college, leaving me with the damage bill.
29. Against all rational logic and understanding of human nature, I am still quite self conscious, especially of my hair.
30. Regardless of the previous statement, I often forget what I’m wearing while I’m at work.
31. I run role-playing games mostly because rarely find people to run the games I want to play.
32. I’ve actually put this list into Excel so that I can randomize the list (I shuffled it twice, even). This is not the least of my neurotic tendencies.
33. More than once, I have convinced girlfriends that I have magical abilities. Every time they were amazed by the unexpectedly realistic results of my claims.
34. Though I have been in only a handful of relationships, over half of them have ended through subterfuge. Similarly, almost half of them have started through subterfuge.
35. I did not vote for our current president, but neither did I vote for the Republican candidate. I voted to try and break the bi-partisan system in which we currently operate.
36. I didn’t drink alcohol until I was nearly 23. I was actually kind of unnerved by it up until then.
37. I once hid from a man in a bathroom and actually escaped out a window. It’s a long story; too long for this list.
38. I mourn the amount of talent I waste by not doing anything truly inspired.
39. I’ve risked my marriage too many times and am truly amazed that my wife and I are still together, sometimes. I could not ask for a better partner and will never take her for granted again.
40. I’ve watched so many movies in my lifetime that I often think my past was a movie I watched, and vice versa.
