additionally, the police had already detained three individuals, but had to let them go because they had no evidence. the police are confident that once they find the evidence needed, they’ll go back and pick up the three individuals.

I was just asking, because I didn’t know of what stage of demolishing it they got to… and it could have started with wiring exposed, or candles left out for it (like they did w/ Chopsticks), etc…

And therefore those three men are official dumbasses. It could have spread and caused more harm.
Thankfully it didn’t spread to other buildings, but it did melt some fiber lines that were used for net traffic between the Research Park and GAB on the main campus. Parts of UNT lost power too. Combo of Verizon, Charter, and DME got things fixed up by yesterday afternoon, but until then quite a few services were down because the campuses couldn’t connect reliably.
