A picture is worth 1,000 words

I have found lately that I am not blogging nearly as much as I would like to be. I have come to determine that my photo of the day project seems to be blocking me from actual blogging. The two are mutually exclusive and quite often the photo of the day has nothing to do with what I actually did that day, but it always feels like I’ve performed my duty to make a “daily post” when I finally upload that photo.

The baby is coming along great as far as we can tell, we go in to get the ultrasound in 10 days to see what gender it is. We’re hoping for a girl now more than ever because while we agreed on a girl’s name almost immediately, we’ve pretty much shot down every boy’s name each of us has offered.

I’m starting to prepare all the art for the mural in the nursery. I got the lions and tigers done and now am on to the giraffe, trees, and mountains. Once I get them all vectorized, I’ll start laying out the actual mural. Its going to be awfully cute. I just hope it translates to paint as well as it does in my head.

We had 6 dead trees taken down in our yard this weekend. Now we’re no longer afraid of them falling on the house. We only fear how much the city is going to charge us to carry away all the limbs.

Had a D&D game this weekend. Hadn’t planned it out at all short of some musing I did in bed here and there. I think it turned out fairly well, considering. Everyone seemed to have a pretty good time.

Went to Derek’s Surprise Birthday party. Had a great time. Played some Guitar Hero, drank to a nice easy buzz and maintained it. Played some Carcassonne and generally just hung out. I miss those kinds of parties. Who’s next?

Derek and I are starting to have these regular “man dates.” A couple weeks ago we went and saw Grindhouse. Yesterday we went and saw How Fuzz. Fun times. Derek hung out with the Simpsons and we tried to figure out how to kidnap the Silver Surfer.

This week, SOVA is being re-accredited. A lot of people are stressed out and dressed up. Craig has his orange shirt and tie. He looks like Dilbert on Halloween.

My back still hurts from moving 6 trees worth of firewood, but it felt good to get out, work hard, and get dirty. Speaking of which, does anyone know how to get sap out of a shirt?

Here’s hoping this next week doesn’t flood us out again.
