Pass this one on, it’s good information

Your Texas driver’s license has a phone number on
the back, just above the bar code on the lower left side:
1-800-525-5555.
This number can be called for emergency assistance on the highway or wherever you might have trouble while in your car.

A service truck will be sent to you.
This service is state operated, paid for with your tax dollars.
If you are ever stranded, just call the number on your driver’s license…help is on the way.
A state trooper will be sent to make sure all is well.
This one is worth passing on to keep your friends and family safe!!

A little more info – http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/nothing/freetow.htm

Basically it’s true, but they won’t tow. I’ve never seen one of the courtesy patrol trucks outside the city of Dallas, so I wonder if they have them everywhere. If you ever use it, do tell us how it was 🙂

When my car broke down on Alex’s birthday I attempted to call the number. I was put ont he line with a retarded high school kid in Austin who was entirely unhelpful and I wanted to punch in the face.

The conversation basically consisted of:
Where are you?
I have no idea where that is.
What do you want us to do about it?

Fuck that phone number. Fuck it in the ass.
