Wow, I totally meant to post this on Monday and completely forgot…
We ARE doing movie night this week and, well, I don’t know that we’re going to be able to do what we had wanted.
We are watching Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which is a Bollywood movie, so be forewarned of a couple things. They are long (this one will be just over 3 hours), but they’re not boring. There is singing and dancing. It will be in Hindi with subtitles.
DDLJ was the longest running film in history with 500 weeks in a row from release, so its a good one… its got a great story, great music, and great filming. It’s really a good way to start with Bollywood.
We wanted to show the film like the Indians do, on a big screen in the back yard, but the weather is questionable. Please bring comfortable outdoor chairs just in case and I’ll watch the weather closely this week. I’d still love to do it since its still early enough in the season that it will be beautiful, warm, and bug free.
So try and show up around 7:30 and we’ll start as soon as possible, outdoors under the sky, weather permitting.

I dunno I was a huge fan of that other one you showed us Guru, or was that not true Bollywood
that was an americanized version of what Bollywood is, much shorter, much more western. The concepts are sound, but its more like a tribute.
Cool, I might actually be able to come this week!
wait a minute… 500 WEEKS?!?!
This movie ran for almost 10 years solid?!
yup!
