So last night I was out buying beer, looking for some of the brews that were suggested at a part a week ago (yeah, like I can remember that far back) and I just grabbed some random ones. I picked up this one by Anchor Brewing Co that, when I poured it into a glass, was darker than a pint of old coffee. I had this mysterious, melted chocolate colored head floating on it an I swear, it didn’t so much as pour out of the bottle as slither. I have to be honest, I was a bit afraid, but after it breathed a little and I chilled it, it was really quite good.

It was their Holiday Brew so I was hoping for the best. I can’t say it was the best beer I’ve ever tasted (that Shiner ’96 is still really good) but it was smooth and tasty and all around pleasant.

Just thought you’d all like to know.

I’m always interested in what might be a good beer, because I’m hard pressed to find one I like. I’ve always been kind of afraid of beers that look like a syrup, I must admit. I like Shiner ok, but, not enough that I would enjoy drinking it.

Well, I like World Market if only because you can buy a lot of beers in singles… sure, you’re paying more per bottle, but its better to buy one bad beer than six.
