There was this really cool DVD he put out way back when to promote himself. And he did this very intelligent film on race.
Basically, he played himself as an actor struggling to make it in Hollywood. His problem was no casting director could pinpoint his race. So with each audition – he dressed different – acted the stereotypical idea of an Italian, African American etc. But even then – he wasn’t Italian enough. He wasn’t “Black” enough, etc. Really thoughtful stuff and you realize how he’s gotten pigeon holed into a certain persona or role in Hollywood now that he’s “made” it.
Actually saw it in my African American film class. =) Thanks though.
he used to be big into D&D too, if I recall. I think I read an article about him.
actually, he fully admits it in 30 Years of Adventure, where he wrote the 4 page forward.
Also, in xXx, he has Melcore tattooed on his stomach. That was his favorite character, a Drow Mage if I recall correctly.
Interesting 🙂 I’ll have to check that book out, I don’t know if I’d be interested, but it might be fun to read.
It starts out really good, but it gets less and less interesting as it gets later in the book… the celebrity inserts are the best part and they start to peter out about half way through.
