Lets see, some top recomendations would be

  • Bubba Ho Tep: everyone should see this movie, even if you’re not a Bruce Campbel, Elvis, or Horror movies. It’s introspective and intelligent, mixed in with a bit of vulgar cheese.
  • 50 First Dates: One of the best date movies I’ve seen in a really long time. Its Adam Sandler, but its not an Adam Sandler movie.
  • Quills: Fantastically interesting, gorgeous cinematography, and amazing acting. If you have no respect for Joaquin Phoenix, you should watch this, you might be surprised.
  • Eurotrip: Funniest movie I’ve seen in two years. Seriously.
  • Pretty Dirty Things: Good “fish-out-of-water” thriller.
  • Butterfly Effect: Its the MTV version of the mind-fuck movie.
  • Stark Raving Mad: I expected so little and got so much more. It’s action and comedy in a tripped out night club setting.
  • Super Size Me: Everyone should see this, in fact you should buy it so you can force people to watch it.
  • Collateral: OMFG, I knew it was going to be good, but DAMN.

That’s just off the first glance. I didn’t want to include too many things, I’ve enjoyed almost all of the movies I’ve gotten to some degree, but I’m kind of special that way.

They have a new feature that could be cool for us Netflixing LJers. You can actually add friends to your Netflix account and share recomendations and send suggestions. If you get on, drop me a line and I’ll add you to my friends.

Shawshank is one of my favourite moves :3 And the Green Mile is a favourite book – I think I have a thing with prision stories. Almost Famous was okay, just a movie off the top of my head that I didn’t see on the list. :3

😀 The Professional was like a giant milk commerical, it was great.

though if you haven’t seen the Director’s Cut, be prepared for a slightly creepier relationship between Leon and the girl. They get a little closer than they should.

Hmm, I don’t remember which one I saw. I was like 4, 5 years ago. :3 They were my movie buff friends, so it could have been. Either way, I need to watch it again.
