The Grand Family Summer Swap…

…in which I talk about the upcoming family gathering and how I think we may need a new strategy.

We don’t really take a vacation in our house. We travel a fair amount, maybe three times a year, but it’s never really a vacation. We go to visit family for the big holidays, of course, and then once a year, in the summer, either we (Heather, Ansel and I) go up to see my brother and his little family, or they come down to see us. And, since we have the two cousins together for this one week of the year, my parents make a special trip to visit whichever is the hosting house for a few days, as well. It’s a great time and we always love the visit, but it still isn’t truly a vacation.

Fourteen Months…

…in which I look at my life in the past year.

I can’t believe it’s been fourteen months since I wrote anything in this blog. Even that entry ways simply an excuse to share some old photos. Against all my begging and pleading, I never did get the so desired PXL2000, and to be honest, it’s probably for the best. The thing takes horrible video, is very picky about lighting, and is nearly impossible to work with. How do I know this? Years later, when I had my own disposable income, I purchased one on eBay and have actually taken some video with it. You can see some samples after the jump.

Cherish Everything…

…in which I talk about a recent dream and the advice I’d like to pass on to my son.

So, a couple of days ago, just after waking up from a dream, I rushed to the computer and wrote down as much as I could so as to remember it as vividly as possible. I did this because it ended in a message that I want to pass on to Ansel when he’s old enough to understand.
