Hey michaeltlh!

This one’s for you…

It appears as though I’ve got a kind of theme going on here with my posts, so I thoughtI should atually type somthing to interrupt it.

I’ll be talking about various subjects in this post, so lets color code them, shall we? I’ll be ranting about UNT, Discussing World of Warcraft, and Highlighting this week’s movie night

I really am miffed about the loss of yet another tree around the Art Building, now granted, this one was pretty beat up in a couple of storms recently, and was probably a safety risk, but still. They’ve cut down three trees in the past year and haven’t planted a single replacement. Keep Denton Beautifu really does give away two tress to every resident (while supplies last) every fall. After two years I’ve run out of places to put them in my yard (except, well, where I put the one that died this past season) and thought “why not play Johhny Appleseed” and put a couple trees around campus. I’m sure UNT would rip them out as fast as I put them in, but it might be worth it just to see what happens at least.

I finally got into another raid last night on WoW. Tavis and Bridgit invited me into a UBRS raid, and while the only things I need in UBRS are fantastically rare drops, I really wanted to go on a raid so I went. It stared out kind of shaky and Leroy-ish, but things got smoother once I got there. We did have enough deaths in the raid that I officially dubbed myself “Dr. Rez.” Tonight, Tarkas and I are planning a Scholomance 5-man. I hope we pull it off, I haven’t done Scholo in a while. I also want to do Strat again, but we’ll see.

This week, it turns out, we will be watching Clue. That’s CLUE, not National Treasure, not Army of Darkness, and not The Man Who Knew Too Little. Clue. That is all.

Another one gone…
I wish UNT would start planting trees and stop cutting them down.

I swear, next time the KDB society is giving away trees, I’m getting two and planting them around campus. Who’s with me?

2560×1024
I have a dual monitor setup and use extra-wide wallpapers, but they’re hard to come by. Most of them are 1600×1200 stretched and cropped.

So I was reading PvP just now and he appologised for posting late the last few days and presented us with a couple of free desktop wallpapers as an offering. Now here’s were I get a bit miffed. You can go to all kinds of cool sites and get theme wallpapers (wow, PVP, Penny Arcade) – pretty much any website these days will create a wallpaper just to look cool and give you something (which is really nothing) for free.

But they’re always for regular monitor dimensions, which means those of us with dual monitors are left with either half a desktop or we have to cut and edit them to fit. Come on people, start making some 2560×1024 background! Get wtith the program, there are more of us out there than you think.

I almost feel dirty doing this…

So I decided that I, for once, would try one of these referal/free merchandise programs. A free iPod Shuffle sounded nice and it requires very few referrals. Also, a referral only involves signing up for one service, not three increasingly demanding services, so its not entirely outlandish.

So anyway, I think the best deal is the Rhapsody 5 downloads for $0.99. I had to demand that Gratis give me credit for it, so be sure to keep the email confirmation you get form Rhapsody if you do decide to help me out with this. If you are feeling adventurous, want five songs for the price of one, and want to see me get an iPod Shuffle (as well as be 25% of the way on to one for yourself), please click this link.

Stop me if I’ve shown this one before…

We were reviewing our movie collection for this week’s movie night and we decided upon one, but we may have shown it before. So if you’ve already seen this at our house, please let me know and I’ll try to pick something else.

This Friday: The Man Who Knew Too Little
Movie starts between 7:45p and 8:00p, be there in time to get a good seat.

We’ll see you there!
